Guess who is finally a senior?????

That's right, ME!!!!! Monday was the start of my senior year.  I can hardly believe that it's here.  It seemed so long ago that I started this program & now it's finally getting close to the end!!  I can't wait to get finished.  And of course I'm super excited that this semester is my Peds rotation.  It's also my Critical Care rotation, which I'm not to thrilled about.  I have come to the conclusion that I really don't like sick adults that much.  Not personally of course, I mean I want them to get better.  But I am thinking that I don't really want to take care of them. Speaking of which, I am also changing departments at work.  I'm moving out of Med/Surg & into Gero pscyh.  Med/Surg doesn't have night techs & I have found that I really like nights a WHOLE lot more than days.  So I'm moving to a dept. that allows me to work evenings & nights.  I can hardly believe that I like it the way I do, but I do.  Alas, I'm sure I have more things to tell you but it's late & I have an early class tomorrow that I'm actually dreading.  We have to take a dosage calculations test & we have to score 100% on it in order to go on & as you might remember if you're a long time reader, I am TERRIBLE at math.  I get total anxiety & my stress level goes through the roof.  So, if you read this before tomorrow, or tomorrow, please say a HUGE prayer that I can pass this test!!

Ok, will blog more soon I promise.

I feel so inadequate...

So today I was reading Sophia's blog over at All Things NP , she's a NP student at Penn State.  As I was reading about her interview process with Penn State & her rotations & her Sim Man day I started thinking, I am nowhere NEAR as smart as she is.  I still struggle with what lab values are correct, much less IF they're off then why??!!  I know that I don't put in as much time studying as some of my other classmates do and all of this makes me really doubt myself.  When will this stuff start to really click? When will I start to KNOW this stuff?  I wish I could spend more time studying than I do & in all honesty I probably could, but I also have a very busy life.  I know that's not an excuse as everyone has their own "stuff", but I was seriously thinking as I was reading over her blog that I really need to buckle down & start reading a bit more.  I definitely need to start studying more.  I mean, I'm doing fine in my classes but P...

I'm still alive!! Tomorrow is the NCLEX!

So as you can see I have GRADUATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!  I am SO happy that nursing school is over, but can we say holy terrified?  Tomorrow is the NCLEX & I feel thoroughly unprepared.  Fortunately our school provided us with the HURST Review  and even though I have been studying this for about 2 weeks now I still feel completely terrified to actually take the test.  Of my former classmates I know of one so far who has failed....so scary... The rest of them are chugging along & passing on a daily basis, hopefully I will be one of them! But to rewind, here are a few pics from graduation & my graduation party that my precious husband & sister threw for me: That's my baby girl to my right, she looks taller than me!   I seriously couldn't have been cheesing any harder!! My nursing bestie & his bf hiding in the back! My study buddy!   My inlaws, aren't they precious!! Definitely one of the ...

I passed!!!

Sorry it took me so long to post, but yes I passed the dreaded NCLEX!! I was so nervous but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  I got 141 questions & I swear around question 130 I thought "I'm the one, I'm going to get all of the questions", but luckily I wasn't, but my friend was!  Me & two of my friends took it at the same time & one finished with 75, then there was me & then the other one got all of the questions, thankfully though we all passed!!  After it was over we all came together & did "the trick" & yes it really works.  2 of my friends failed & they were able to go all the way to the credit card screen after taking the test, but everyone that passed was stopped before getting to that scree, so just in case you're wondering, yes the trick really works. So, I have been working on Med Surg now for about a month & I have to say that I have really learned some interesting things of which I will...
